The role: Renewable Energy Engineer
Google is looking for an extraordinarily creative, motivated and talented engineer with significant experience in developing complex engineering designs to join our newly-created Renewable Energy Engineering team. This group is tasked with developing the most cost-effective and scalable forms of renewable energy generation, and this person will play a key role in evaluating existing products as well as developing new products and technologies.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with other members of this newly-formed team to develop processes and technologies that drastically increase the efficiency and/or reduce the costs of renewable energy.
* Develop and execute rigorous evaluation procedures and test methodologies, and communicate findings, risks and recommendations on courses of action.
* Evaluate energy trends in order to effectively direct Google’s strategic technical direction in regards to renewable energy.

Requirements
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering complex engineering designs in a fast-paced development environment.
* Ability to simultaneously investigate multiple avenues to solve complex problems.
* B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) in one of the following disciplines: mechanical, chemical, computer science, physics, electrical or materials science.
* Collaborative approach required in order to effectively work with the other development teams at Google.

REC Solar Seeking Commercial Solar Consultant

In this high-energy, fast-paced position, the Commercial Solar Consultant will be responsible for the following:
• Generate sales leads, i.e. participate in trade shows, follow up on office inquiry calls;
• Produce sales orders by convincing customers on the merits of the financial, technical and/or environmental properties of a solar system;
• Make business decisions relating to the appropriate sales price for a solar system;
• Coordinate advertising measures with the marketing department;
• Analyze market research parameters such as demographic and income data, and business competitors;
• Support the rebate submission process;
• Network in the community through attending events such as chamber of commerce, Rotary, etc.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Three to Five years of outside sales experience with a proven ability to close high value deals;
• Must have experience in complex selling situations with multiple decision makers;
• Bachelor’s degree in business or similar concentration;
• Excellent written and verbal skills;
• Experience analyzing commercial electricity use, rate tariffs, and sizing/designing solar electric systems is a plus;
• Knowledgeable in photovoltaic technologies, manufacturers, and suppliers;
• Understanding of the various CSI rebate computations and the rebate application process;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; specifically Microsoft Excel;
• Ability to learn a technical product;
• Ability to interact with the public and educate them on solar electricity;
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines;
• Clean driving record;
• Must live by example and represent the industry and REC Solar professionally and with integrity.
Salary will be based on experience, comprised of a base salary and commission. Average first year compensation ranges from $55,000 to $105,000. The commission package is designed to encourage high performers and does not contain a ceiling to earning potential. Those individuals that can make deals happen will be compensated accordingly.
