The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of conservation volunteers, has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking an Assistant Director of SCA Conservation Corps Western Programs, based in SCA’s Boise, ID office. This position is responsible for the quality and effectiveness of all western Corps program activity, and reports to the National Director of Conservation Corps.
The Western Corps Assistant Director will supervise, oversee and support the Corps Program Directors as they manage the day-to-day operations of five exciting Conservation Corps programs. This role will include program design and development, assuring program/site goals and objectives are set and achieved, hiring and training staff, and maintaining relationships with all granting and agency partners. (S)he will also represent the interests of the western Corps programs to other SCA departments and the SCA headquarters, serve on the Risk Management and other teams as appropriate, step in as a back-up for the Corps National Director and Eastern Assistant Director as needed, and provide leadership for SCA’s Boise office.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with specific major in field of endeavor or relevant additional coursework to the specific field with 2 or more years of experience
4 – 6 years of experience including skills related to the position such as project management, leadership in an outdoor setting and experience working with programmatic partners
Demonstrated team leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to build strong working relationships
2-3 years of training experience
Demonstrated skill and experience in budget management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Current Wilderness First Responder/CPR Certification
Willingness to travel
Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
