Senior Electrical Engineer for Solar Power industry in Missoula, MT

Description:
Identify requirements of and create specifications for complex industrial power equipment; then, supervise the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of that equipment. Applies principals and techniques of electrical engineering to solve problems and accomplish goals. Travel, including international, will be required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Indentifies requirements of and creates specifications for complex industrial power equipment.
• Locates and selects potential vendors to manufacture equipment.
• Supervises equipment manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Applies electrical engineering principals to troubleshoot and solve problems on equipment.
• Assists with the development of qualification test procedures and carries out qualification testing.
• Reads and interprets P&ID’s, schematics, specifications for electrical equipment, and technical reports.
• Identifies and monitors project milestones.
• Prepares reports of results and conclusions for management.
• Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

Requirements
• Experience with industrial power systems including transformers, power controllers, and distribution equipment.
• Strong familiarity with PLC programming required, preferably Siemens or comparable.
• Good knowledge of test lab equipment.
• Good knowledge of electrical theories, design principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques.
• Good communication and presentation skills to properly communicate information of moderate complexity to peers, customers, vendors, and members of the management team (up through senior management level).
• Ability to work with and meet critical deadlines. Project management experience is a plus.
Requirements
• B.S.E.E. or P.E. preferred. May have advanced degree.
• 6 + years of industrial electrical or related experience.
