Job Summary:
Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Engineer for Sharp’s Optoelectronics devices.
In this position you will be responsible for directly managing products in assigned areas. This marketing position requires candidates to work closely with Sharp’s Factory, Management and sales in communicating customers’ requirements to the factory and driving solutions to those needs. Primary customer application involvement would be both consumer and industrial equipment. This position reports to the Optoelectronics Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
• Drive design-wins in target markets through training/motivating/supporting the sales force, both via your staff and through personal involvement in winning designs and supporting major OEM customers.
• Work closely with Distribution on sales promotions to increase mindshare and sales.
• Coordinate with factory on technical, delivery, quality, pricing and other issues in order to close design wins or purchase orders.
• Achieve group’s sales revenue targets through effective sales techniques for assigned products.
• Monitor and coordinate product line inventory and purchases for assigned products.
• Prepare semi-annual product line business plans for assigned products.
• Develop and perform product presentations in conjunction with the sales force.
• Update and maintain department’s product pricing programs.
• Coordinate new product introductions.
• Drive the development of sales programs, Marcom plans, success stories, website content and other promotional sales aids.
• Where necessary, organize the development of product collaterals, and technical documentation.
• Perform competitive analyses in order to implement sales penetration strategies.
• Perform training for sales personnel, including sales force, reps, and distributors.
• Coordinate factory taskforce visits of customers.
Position Specifications:
• Candidate must demonstrate a consistent track record of business accountability and a sense of ownership of his business.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to build positive working relationships within SMA and other Sharp IBUs.
• Strong ability to identify market trends and articulate an action plan to upper management for approval.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence others.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
• Requires a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical degree.
• Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Optoelectronics market is strongly desired.
• Experience with dealing with distribution for Optoelectronics is strongly desired.
• 6+ years of increasing responsibility in the technical sales or marketing of electronic components is strongly desired.
• Travel throughout North America as well as international is required.
