Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, SI for our Huntington Beach, California facility.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading large-scale System Integration projects and exercising high level judgment in the execution and oversight of these projects.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supports the System Integration efforts of SESG as the lead engineer in charge of the design and engineering work on specific System Integration Projects
• Involved in doing system design work and coordinating and overseeing engineering consultants
• Taking detailed measurements of proposed solar systems sites
• Doing layouts and detailed designs of PV systems with AutoCAD
• Working with Structural and Electrical Engineering consultants on executing code-compliant designs
• Generating system specifications and preparing bid documents
• Generating permit packages and project Gantt charts
• Building detailed BOM (Bills of Materials)
• Analyzing construction methodologies and cost structures
• Interacting with overseeing the work of subcontractors
• Serving as project manager for large-scale PV System Integration projects
• Performing cost analysis projections and reports
• Working with the project sales personnel on presentations and technical matters
Position Specifications:
• Reports to Senior manager of SI Engineering
Requirements
Job Requirements:
• A bachelors or masters in engineering (electrical, mechanical or civil)
• 4-8 years in the construction industry in an engineering role preferably with an energy focus or for a Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or HVAC engineering firm
• Experience with project management of large commercial projects
• High proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Excel
• Ability to generate construction plan-sets and specifications
• Strong communication skills
• Hands-on construction, product design and solar experience is a plus
