Tennessee Valley Authority Seeks Program Manager Renewable & Clean Energy

This position is TVA’s expert in the field of renewable and clean energy. Manages and tracks TVA’s compliance with existing and future renewable and clean energy requirements. Position advises TVA executives in the policy, strategies, and technical applications of renewable and clean energy. Works these programs across the agency to recommend and manage appropriate applications of renewable and clean energy capacity and technologies, including hydro, wind power, solar power, geothermal sources, and biomass energy systems (wood waste, dedicated energy crops, landfill gas, digester gas, animal waste, municipal solid waste) and other naturally replenished energy sources. This position is responsible for coordinating agency-wide participation in the legislative and regulatory activities in renewable and clean energy requirements in conjunction with OGC, Valley Relations, the Washington office, business units and TVA programs. Additionally this position leads an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and planners on the deployment and management of clean and renewable energy and technical support to TVA’s generating organization. Position is the agency’s expert and representative on the regional and national groups. Position plays a significant role in achieving TVA strategic goals with respect to demonstrating environmental leadership for the valley, by the use of affordable regional renewable and clean energy sources.
Requirements
An advanced degree in one of the natural sciences or a related field of study; or equivalent education, training & experience and a minimum of twelve years of experience in professional environmental work, with emphasis on clean and renewable energy is required. A comprehensive knowledge of renewable and clean energy technologies, air quality, wastewater treatment, environmental issues related to power plants and their impacts on water and air quality, pollution prevention programs, and terrestrial ecology is also required. Highly developed oral and written communications skills and demonstrated competencies in interpersonal and human relations, motivating and coaching team efforts are desired.
